About this website
LearnExpression is intended to help teach you how to use the entire Microsoft Expression suite, starting with the official release of Microsoft Expression Web, through online video tutorials. Currently there is one video series available to watch on the site, Introduction to Microsoft Expression Web. I'll be adding more advanced video tutorials on Expression Web soon, and a bit further down the road, video tutorials for the rest of the Expression suite as well.
There's also a community forum available for questions, comments, discussion, etc about the videos and Expression. Feel free to register and start posting.
About me
My name is Dustin Drees. Some of you may know me as the Marketing & Art Director for LearnVisualStudio.NET. As that title should imply, I'm focused on design.
I'm creating this website from a designer's perspective. The whole Expression suite is aimed at trying to bridge the gap between design and development, and that makes a good premise for a tutorial website too. So this site will be working to offer videos that show you how to design websites and applications using the Expression suite, not just build them. Eventually there will also be some cross over with LearnVisualStudio.NET, which will bring the design world and the development world together on projects.
What's coming soon
I encourage you to watch through the video series at the left, and I hope you find it useful. (A bit of an honest confession, I'm a long time Mac user, so creating this content in Windows has been a world shift. You'll probably catch me saying things like "command" instead of "control" for a little bit, I apologize. But hey, if I can jump in and understand Expression coming from a Mac, I think you'll be able to dive in easily too.)
If you're interested in learning more about the Expression suite, especially Expression Web, this site will continue to grow in the coming weeks and I encourage you to keep it bookmarked. I'll be adding an RSS feed, a newsletter signup, source code downloads, and, more importantly, more free tutorials, in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for taking the time to explore the site, and good luck with Microsoft Expression.
Joining the mailing list will keep you updated when new videos are available on the site, and maybe some other exciting news. And, of course your information is completly private.
